Writing
Kelly Lydick received her B.A. in Writing and Literature from Burlington College, in Burlington, Vermont, and her M.A. in Writing and
Consciousness from the New College of California, San Francisco. She has also attended the summer writing workshops at Naropa
University. Kelly has worked as an Assistant Editor for Northern Arizona University's Thin Air Literary Journal, held a number of
teaching positions, and currently works as a Travel Guide-Book Editor for Avalon Travel with the Rick Steves team.
Her work has appeared in Twittering Machine, the Burlington College Poetry Journal, Echoes from the Heart: A Poetry Anthology
for Peace, the New College Review, ditch, poetry that matters, shady side review, and SwankSpeak! She is the author of the
chapbook We Once Were (Pure Carbon Publishing, AZ), and most recently, Mastering the Dream (Second Story Books, CA), an
experimental fiction novel exploring a young woman's coming to terms with the power and danger of her own consciousness.
Kelly's recent readings include: Modern Times Bookstore (San Francisco, CA), Moe's Books (Berkeley, CA), Changing Hands
Bookstore (Tempe, AZ), The Smell (Los Angeles, CA), and Evergreen Valley College (San Jose, CA), and the California Institute of

Kelly has also recorded a segment for National Public Radio and KQED's The Writers' Block radio show, with colleagues Amy Reed

Photography
Kelly's Photography has been featured in Vista Magazine, Photographer's Forum Annual 2002 and Photographer's Forum Best of
College Annual 2005. Her photographic Exhibits include the Fountain Hills First Annual Photographic Exhibit (by invitation only), The
Fountain Hills Third Annual Cultural Council Exhibit, and Situational Awareness, a group exhibition and fundraiser for AdBusters
Magazine and MoveOn.org (2004). She also has had photography published in Burlington College's literary magazine The Queen
City Review, which became available in its inaugural edition in November, 2008.
In addition, Kelly pioneered the 'Storyboard Wall of Fame' for the Arizona Lost Boys Center, in Phoenix, Arizona. The Storyboard Wall
of Fame features portraits of Sudanese refugees living in the United States, along with their stories of personal struggle and
redemption. The Wall of Fame was created in honor of the struggles Sudanese people faced due to recent conflict in Sudan, and was
intended to help create a greater sense of community here in the United States where the 'Lost Boys' have resettled.
